Something Gay: A Brief Hookup
Long One Act (2M) - Performed as a 2020 Louise Heck-Rabi Play Writing Festival Finalist
Something Gay: A Brief Hookup begins as Sam, a recent post grad, does what many gay men do when they get home from work, he logs onto Grindr. There he reconnects with an old flame, Ethan, who has just returned home from a national tour contract, and the two reignite their casual relationship. As time continues the two must consider what this relationship means and how to continue forward. As their life paths and careers hit a crossroad, they may not be able to keep this fling as casual as it once was.
Merging contemporary dialogue with modern dance and movement passages, Something Gay celebrates and interrogates gay digital hookup culture and the relationships that are formed on dating apps.
